in film – collaborating with other im-
passioned artists and bringing sto-
ries to life that move people, make
them uncomfortable, cry, laugh,
whatever – just feel; and hopefully
look into that a little more. I also
love to write and be part of the film-
making and theatrical process any
way I can – I would love to form my
own production company once I am
more established.
Who is your favorite actress?
I have so many! I loved old movie
stars like Bette Davis and Katharine
Hepburn. But I think my all-time
favorite actress would have to be
Meryl Streep. She can do anything,
has remarkable versatility, prepar-
edness, and is just captivating to
watch. She has also been so smart
with her career choices and as a
woman. She has embraced aging
gracefully and still rocks leading
lady roles as much as any twenty-
five-year old actress.
Who is your favorite model?
I like models that have ambitions
beyond being a pretty face, like
Heidi Klum. She has become her
own brand, between books and
television shows, in addition to her
modeling.
Tell us about a typical work-
day in the life of Kerry
Garvin, and a weekend day.
What do you to entertain
yourself?
I volley back and forth between
wearing the hat of an actor and
a model. So, there is not really a
typical day! I can work for many
weeks straight, between film sets
and modeling shoots, in addition
to going out on auditions or cast-
ings. And I can also have down-
time where I am booking work with
photographers I enjoy working with
just for fun in addition to looking for
what my next role will be. When
I am not working, I really enjoy
low-key time with friends and my
chocolate lab, Max, being outdoors
as much as possible, seeing plays
and films.
Are you doing any acting
now?
I completed seven films since July of
2011 up until January of 2012, one
commercial, one TV show and two
plays. I’m at the Idyllwild Interna-
tional Festival of Cinema right now
as a film (“A Cube and a Button”) I
acted in this summer (my first actual-
ly!) was selected for the film festival
-- so exciting! I will be acting in my
first feature film that begins produc-
tion this spring in California and the
southwest.
Tell us about the plays and
movies that you are working
on.
I have an off-Broadway play that
has a three week run coming up,
a potential feature film I hope to
work into my schedule, and then a
feature film that starts production
this spring, as I mentioned!
What is your dream as an
actress and a model?
To have a life-long, sustainable
career that is filled with work I am
proud of while maintaining my
values.
With which movie director
would you like to work with?
I am really looking forward to work-
ing with the up-and-coming direc-
tor Stephen Savage on a film this
spring!
What do you to seduce a
man?
Be myself!
What are your most effective
seduction weapons?
In all honesty, I have never gone
about seducing someone. If I have
chemistry with someone – it is there.
And I would never want to manipu-
late someone into being with me.
What should a man do
to win the heart of Kerry
Garvin?
Be himself! Fancy cars, jewelry and
gifts are truly a turn-off and kind
of insulting actually to think that
someone would think that my heart
could be won in such a superficial
way – sincerely.
When choosing the ideal
man which is preferable the
physical appearance or intel-
ligence? The young guy or
the mature man?
I’ve also been in relationships with
