How do you understand the con-
cept of beauty?
Can anyone be a
model outside of today’s estab-
lished beauty standards?
I see beauty as being very subjec-
tive, but also very dominated by
cultural trends. I think that some
of the most unique and powerful
looking models are the ones that
maybe don’t fit the established
standards of beauty. But in a
way, the entertainment industry in
general will always try to tell you
there are “standards” you must fit
into to succeed and if you don’t,
you’re not beautiful. But, through-
out Hollywood’s history, there have
always been people who came
along who broke those standards
and were revered for their beauty.
When you think back on it, the
fact that Angelina Jolie became so
famous is not just because she’s
beautiful, but because when she
“arrived” in Hollywood, she didn’t
really fit the current beauty stand-
ards of Hollywood. There was
no one else who looked like her.
Big lips were not necessarily “in”
at that time, but now they’re all
anybody wants. Now she is the
beauty standard. It’s weird and
cool how culture shapes itself in
that way.
Do you think that the “Naked
Maja” of Goya, could be con-
sidered a proper model for the
current beauty standards?
To me, absolutely yes. I think that
thanks to women like Jennifer
Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Kat Den-
nings, and Christina Hendricks, we
are beginning to see more ap-
preciation for curvaceous bodies
in the media. However, I think that
the fashion industry in particular
would not really want her as a
model, which is a shame, because
she obviously made a beautiful
model.
Let us talk about masculine
beauty, what does Ro Po con-
sider a man must have to be
“Gorgeous”?
I’m not sure a man needs one
thing or another. I’m into guys who
have some sense of style of their
own. On one hand, I love the
androgynous look, when a man
enjoys exploring his more “femi-
nine” side, it’s very striking to me.
On the other hand, I really love a
guy with a bit of facial hair who
doesn’t care too much about his
appearance and just throw on a
pair of boots and go hiking with
me. Generally, I like when guys
are themselves and don’t try too
hard to impress me.
Why do you think men are at-
tracted to “bad girls”?
I think it’s a sort of fetish. I think
women are generally taught to be
feminine and caring, so maybe,
depending on the guy, when he
meets a bad girl, he sees it as an
opportunity to relive his own “bad
boy” days or fantasies.
In contrast to the previous ques-
tion, why do you think that cer-
tain women prefer “bad boys”?
Similar answer; I think that be-
cause a lot of women feel they
aren’t supposed to be “bad” they
see bad boys as a journey or ad-
venture they can take without actu-
ally having to be bad themselves.
If you could choose the most
unusual place to have sex where
would it be and why?
In the deep ocean, because of
the sensory deprivation. I think it
would be a very surreal experi-
ence.
If you can create the ideal man
with body parts from celebrities:
Oh my, I don’t know if I could pick
and choose parts, but my favorite
men are Johnny Depp, Neil Patrick
Harris Marsters. Though, James
Marsters’s body is probably my
favorite out of those four.
Do you remember the movie “In-
decent Proposal”? What would
you do if you were in that situa-
tion?
That’s an ethical dilemma! It
depends on how the guy was.
If he was cocky and pushy and
entitled no way. If he was a nice,
and it was going to get me and
the person I loved through a hard
time, then maybe. But if my hus-
band was pushing for it, like in the
movie, I would leave my husband,
have sex with the guy, take the
