Boracay
It’s only seven kilometers long and three thousand kilometers
away from Manila, at the northern tip of Panay, another

clan on the island of Panay five times daily. From Caticlan
guests take brightly colored boats to White Beach – and
in only a few minutes they have arrived at one of the most
beautiful beaches in the world.
There the white sand is unusually fine, as delicate as castor
sugar, and when you put it together with the deep turquoise
colored ocean, the colors are simply heavenly.
But it’s not only bathing in the warm topical sea that makes
this island a wonderful experience.
There are also exclusive resorts here, such as the Mandala
Spa. Watch the coconut palms swaying gently in the warm
breezes, take pictures during yet another spectacular sunset
and you will soon see why this island has a particularly
special magic all its own.

On the east coast of the island you will find 75-Mile-Beach.
Strangely for such a lovely place, this long beach is also a major
thoroughfare – all sorts of vehicles can traverse the beach, provid-
ing they have four wheel drive capability, and the beach even
serves as an airport runway for smaller planes.
There’s only one drawback: bathing in the sea here can be dan-
gerous as there are treacherous currents, the ocean is very deep
and sharks are often spotted. The best thing to do is swim in one
of the beautiful lakes – they’re far safer and just as pretty
