she enjoys watching soccer games
just as much, and rarely misses
matches of her favorite team,
Real Madrid C.F. She has always
enjoyed performing in front of audi-
ences, although due to her soft-
spoken personality, never pursued
it until now.
Lisli gives credit for her all her
accomplishments to her parents.
They taught her to be a hardwork-
ing and honest person who does
not give up on her dreams and is
not afraid to stand up for what she
believes in. Her parents have also
implanted in her a sense of humil-
ity, which she argues is crucial for
success. Lisli is thankful for all the
hard work her parents have done
to raise their children in a respect-
able fashion. The struggle of
immigrant families is not foreign to
Señorita Hispanidad. Although she
herself has not experienced it first-
hand, she has witnessed the way
her parents struggled to obtain a
legal status in this country and the
continuing struggle to reunite their
family. Presently, Lisli’s older sister
remains in El Salvador, who after
nearly twenty-seven years has not
been able to be reunited with the
rest of the family.
Lisli Flores-Benitez is proud to rep-
resent the hardworking Hispanic
community. Now that she has won
the title, her goal is to respectfully
represent all Hispanics as well as
women in New Jersey. Her goals
include giving back, in some way,
to her country, El Salvador, as well
as being a respected representa-
tive of her people and culture. In
the near future, she hopes to fur-
ther her education and partake in
other pageants and events. By do-
ing so show that there are no limits
to beauty, that there is no mold that
you must fit in order to be consid-
ered beautiful, and that intelligence
is beautiful.
